I’ve had some pretty stressful days at work. I’ve seen people become overwhelmed by stress and be pushed into a full-blown panic attack. The thing to remember is: panic attacks aren’t dangerous. That feeling of your heart racing and chest tightening? It’s actually your body adapting to a perceived threat. Your brain starts pumping out stress hormones to give you a burst of physical energy. If you’re not in any real danger, it’s just your body’s reaction to the stress. In addition, I can say that work does not need to be stressful if you can take control of your schedule. Being able to prioritize tasks will make it easier to manage your schedule. Avoid taking on too much and be sure to take time to relax and enjoy your time away from work. This will help you to be more productive and will reduce your stress levels.
The way you handle yourself during a stressful day at work will determine the way you deal with stress in the future. where you’re feeling stressed, you need to relax and calm yourself. The first step is to acknowledge that you are indeed stressed. Relax your body by sitting down, deep breathing for several minutes, and try to think about something other than the problem at hand. Now you will be able to approach the situation with a better perspective and see what exactly is causing you to feel stressed. You’ll be able to come up with a solution more easily.
